Burmese legend Aung La N Sang “coming back with a vengeance” in his return against Shamil Erdogan in Denver
Aung La N Sang is back and ready to show the world why he's a living MMA legend. The Burmese legend will face Shamil Erdogan in a middleweight MMA match at ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6 at Ball Arena in Colorado.
Aung La went into a brief hiatus but has since returned to re-establish his position as one of the most dangerous fighters in ONE Championship.
Taking to Instagram, the former two-division MMA world champion said he's returning with a harder desire than before to put the middleweight MMA division on notice.
Aung La N Sang wrote:
"I'm coming back with a vengeance! 😤👊 This is my 20th fight for @onechampionship and 10 years in the company. See you all in Denver #ONE168"
'The Burmese Python' is one of the most important fighters in ONE Championship history and was only the second-ever fighter to simultaneously hold two world titles in the promotion.
Aung La held the ONE middleweight and light heavyweight MMA world titles from Feb. 2018 to Oct. 2020.
Although he's relinquished his throne, Aung La remained one of the most feared fighters on the planet. Aung La is now on a run of three straight wins against Japanese legend Yushin Okami, Gilberto Galvao, and Fan Rong.
Aung La N Sang itching to get back into the fold
While many have called Aung La N Sang the gatekeeper to the ONE middleweight MMA world title, the Burmese legend is hellbent on taking the throne for himself once more.
In an interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Aung La said he wants to beat any middleweight who dares go up against him in his pursuit of the gold he once held.
Aung La said:
"I do want to fight all the middleweights. I'm known as the gatekeeper but I'm ready to keep beating all the middleweights. It's time for me to step up and make my title run."
Aung La can get one step closer to his goal if he beats the undefeated Shamil Erdogan in Denver.
