The highly anticipated Canelo Alvarez vs. Edgar Berlanga clash went down on Sept. 14. The fight had the WBO, WBC and WBA super middleweight titles on the line and the event was held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Alvarez walked into the fight with a four-fight win streak that included victories over Gennadiy Golovkin, Jermell Charlo and Jaime Munguia. Berlanga, on the other hand, entered the clash undefeated with an impressive professional record of 22-0.

Alvarez started the fight on a good note and got the better of his opponent in the early minutes.
Things got dirty during a clinch position in the second round and the pair had to be separated.
The 34-year-old went on to score a knockdown in the third round of the fight and followed it up with a flurry of punches.
As the fight progressed, Alvarez and Berlanga continued to clinch and trade shots.
Teofimo Lopez appeared to give boxing tips to Alvarez in-between rounds.
Berlanga seemingly attempted to headbutt Alvarez in the eighth round, which resulted in a heavy right hand from the champion.
The two fighters turned up the aggression in the later rounds of the clash.
Canelo Alvarez vs. Edgar Berlanga eventually went the 12-round distance and ended in a unanimous decision victory for the champion. The three judges scored the bout 117-110, 118-109, 118-109 in favor of Alvarez.
