Canelo Alvarez will be in trouble if he fights Terence Crawford after WBA clash with Israil Madrimov, says coach of ‘Bud’
Terence Crawford's pursuit for undisputed super welterweight glory will begin on 3 Aug. against WBA champion Israil Madrimov. It will be Crawford's 154-pound debut, and the air is thick with anticipation for how the two-division undisputed champion will perform.
Despite both 'Bud' and Canelo Alvarez having an opponent booked for their next respective fights, discussions about the pair clashing in the ring are yet to subside.
As two of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world, and Crawford's dismissal of their size difference as a factor, there is a desire to see them fight.
Brian 'BoMac' McIntyre, Bud's longtime trainer, recently shared his thoughts on potentially facing the Mexican in their next outing. McIntyre believes that the super middleweight champion would find himself in trouble against the Nebraska native if they fight in the near future.
He said this:
"Canelo has been in the game long enough to know what he's doing... If [Crawford] does get Canelo right after the Madrimov fight, [Canelo] might just be in a little bit of trouble. Because [Crawford] has got that rhythm, he's into that rhythm, into his groove. It's a good thing for Terence."

Eddie Hearn predicts Terence Crawford to come unstuck against Israil Madrimov
Terence Crawford is currently the favorite heading into his WBA title fight with Israil Madrimov. However, leading boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has shared a worrisome prediction for Crawford fans.
The Matchroom Boxing chairman believes that Madrimov is the most powerful opponent 'Bud' has faced by some distance. Hearn also pointed out that discussions for the Nebraska native to fight Canelo Alvarez or Jaron Ennis in his next bout indicate that Madrimov is being overlooked.
The promoter said this during a recent interview:
"I've got bad, bad feelings for Terence Crawford against Israil Madrimov. Because all I hear is Crawford-Canelo, Crawford-Boots, Crawford-this. He is fighting the biggest puncher he's ever faced on August 3rd... I'm telling you now, if Crawford gets hit on the chin by Israil Madrimov, he is gonna really, really know about it.... I've got a really sneaky feeling for my guy on August 3rd, I really have. I think it's a really tough fight."
