Chael Sonnen believes Darren Till needs to stick to one gym like Stipe Miocic

Chael Sonnen has weighed in on Darren Till's most recent fight and his series of setbacks. Till is coming off a third-round submission loss against Dricus du Plessis in a middleweight bout at UFC 282 on December 10.

'The Gorilla' previously trained with the Astra Fight Team in Brazil. He eventually returned to his native England and has worked with reputable teams such as Team Kaobon and MTK Global.

Additionally, Darren Till has recently been training with undefeated UFC welterweight Khamzat Chimaev at the Allstars Training Center in Sweden. Till also spent time at Tiger Muay Thai in Thailand to prepare for UFC 282.

In an edition of Beyond the Fight, Chael Sonnen alluded to the aforementioned facts. He suggested that Till should learn from fighters such as heavyweight MMA legend Stipe Miocic, who sticks with one trainer and gym rather than training at several different gyms:

"You must have consistent training under one coach's philosophy. Now, if you've got to move until you find that coach, go right ahead. And don't float around, don't do these things."

Chael Sonnen credited former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic's firefighting job for keeping him in Ohio and with his hometown gym (Strong Style Fight Team). Urging Darren Till to similarly find a gym close to home in England, Sonnen said:

"If he lives in England, if England is home, find a place to train in England; oh, by the way, one that's close to home. This is the secret of success to Stipe Miocic; 100 percent, not maybe. He's right there. So now, he's in the same gym. He's with the same coaches. It is truly the secret to the longevity of Stipe Miocic. It's a very real thing."
