Chael Sonnen claims Jon Jones predicted R1 KO loss for Francis Ngannou in PFL debut after he saved 'Bones' from alleged racial profiling
Chael Sonnen says Jon Jones had predicted Renan Ferreira to KO Francis Ngannou in the first round.
For the longest time, Jones had refused to give Sonnen an interview. However, 'The American Gangster' says he finally got a chance to pick the widely regarded MMA GOAT's brain while in Riyadh for the PFL vs. Bellator fight card earlier in February.
According to the Oregon native, he noticed Jones allegedly being racially profiled, prompting him to intervene. The pair later struck up a conversation, leading to Sonnen asking 'Bones' about his thoughts on a potential fight between Ngannou and Ferreira.
Talking to Ariel Helwani during a live reaction for PFL Super Fights: Battle of the Giants, the MMA veteran elaborated on the UFC heavyweight champion's prediction, saying:
"He gave me about an eight-minute breakdown of that fight and in no uncertain terms he took 'Problema'. It had nothing to do with his personal problems with Francis. He said [Ferreira] is just too big. He is too strong, he is too young, he is too wild. He is too willing to step in and engage. He said he is going to knock Francis out. He said he's going to knock Francis out in the first round."

Suffice it to say, Jones' prediction failed to strike true. In the main event of PFL Super Fights: Battle of the Giants, 'The Predator' dominated from the starting bell, and knocked out 'Problema' in just over three minutes.
After initially trading shots on the feet, the former UFC champion took his opponent to the ground. Ngannou then capitalized on a failed triangle attempt by Ferreira to chain together debilitating ground and pound to close out the fight.

Following the bout 'Bones' took to X, commending 'The Predator' for showcasing a complete MMA game. Jones will next be seen in a heavyweight title clash against former champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 in November.
