Chael Sonnen dares the nurse who allegedly gave Islam Makhachev an IV to give a public statement

Chael Sonnen recently weighed in on Dan Hooker's accusation that Islam Makhachev cheated before his title defense against Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 284.

On Monday, 'The Hangman' went on a Twitter tirade against the Dagestani and posted a series of tweets accusing him of using an intravenous (IV) injection to rehydrate himself after weigh-ins.

The New Zealander alleged that Makhachev privately hired a medical professional to administer the IV.

Dumb cunt thinks he can fly to Australia hire a nurse to give him an I.V and we won’t find out. Cheating dog.

In light of the allegations made, Chael Sonnen weighed in on the matter in a YouTube video. He claimed that while the nurse who administered the IV should come forth and clarify the situation, there is no chance of a medical professional risking their license by doing so.

In a recent episode of Beyond the Fight, the former UFC middleweight and light heavyweight title challenger expressed doubt over Hooker's allegations:

"If we then had a medical professional, in this case, a nurse, who was coming out and saying, 'I did it and I will sign here under this sworn testimony.' ... In America, we take their license away quickly... It's a lot to believe. It's a lot to accept. I feel confident in telling you, said nurse is never going to come out."

Chael Sonnen questions judges' scorecards in Islam Makhachev's win over Alexander Volkanovski

Chael Sonnen was not happy about Islam Makhachev earning his first title defense against Alexander Volkanovski in Australia.

The UFC's reigning lightweight champion went head-to-head against the Australian in a closely contested matchup that the Russian ultimately won via unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, and 49-46). However, many fans believed that 'The Great' should've gotten his hand raised instead.

While the 34-year-old Australian surpassed the expectations of many, it seems his performance especially impressed 'The American Gangster'. Speaking in a video posted to his YouTube channel, Sonnen expressed his disappointment at the judges' scores, claiming:

"See, this is so disappointing. They just made the announcement, they gave it to Islam... Whatever happened to the good old days, when you’d go on the road, the hometown guy wins... That’s how you do it."

He continued:

"You go the distance in a great fight like that… You have a sold-out arena cheering for Volkanovski. If you’re a judge with any level of industry-standard… You rip Islam off, and you give it to Volkanovski. And I’m only partly kidding about that.”
