Chael Sonnen dismisses idea that Jon Jones is repeatedly turning down fights offered by UFC
Chael Sonnen recently came to the defense of Jon Jones after the former UFC champion's proposed matchup with heavyweight Stipe Miocic fell through.
UFC president Dana White previously mentioned that the company has offered Jones three fights every year since 'Bones' last fought in 2020. White stated that Jones has turned down every single one of those fights.
However, 'The American Gangster' released a video on his YouTube channel in which he rubbished the claims. Chael Sonnen said the following:
"This all started with me being told that the UFC has offered Jon three fights a year every year. Because he's been out three years Jon has quietly turned down nine fights. That's not true."

Jon Jones last fought against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247 in February 2020.
'Bones' won the fight via a controversial unanimous decision. He vacated his light heavyweight belt in August 2020 in pursuit of the UFC heavyweight title, and has spent three years bulking up in preparation for his debut at heavyweight.
Chael Sonnen believes Israel Adesanya vs. Alex Pereira will be a stand-up fight
Chael Sonnen recently released a video analyzing the upcoming middleweight title fight between champion Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira at UFC 281.
'The American Gangster' stated that the fight will consist of only striking and thinks that no grappling will take place. Sonnen said that normally when two high-level strikers face each other in MMA, grappling is often utilized to gain an advantage.
Sonnen pointed to the recent title fight between Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane as an example of how one striker employed a grappling-intensive strategy against another striker.
In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Chael Sonnen stated:
"I'm just locked [in] guys, and I can't hear any different. That this is going to be a stand-up fight... I really believe we're just going to see a stand-up fight. Now that's a little bit naive of me, considering the last time we had two great strikers fight in a main event for a world title. It was Ciryl [Gane] and Francis [Ngannou] and we saw the takedowns."

Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira have faced each other twice in the kickboxing arena. 'Poatan' was victorious on both occasions, winning via decision and knockout.
According to Chael Sonnen, the third meeting between the pair will be another 'kickboxing' fight, but this time with MMA gloves on instead.
