Chael Sonnen explains 'upside' of dealing with a "clinical narcissist" like Jon Jones
Chael Sonnen opened up about his former foe Jon Jones' heavyweight debut being made official for UFC 285 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 4. Jones will fight Ciryl Gane in the main event for the vacant heavyweight championship.
Sonnen uploaded a video to his YouTube channel where he discussed 'Bones' making the move to heavyweight. He had a strong choice of words as he mentioned there's an upside to dealing with the former UFC light heavyweight champion.
He said:
"I think I had forget a little bit what it's like when Jon is around. And one thing when you're dealing with a clinical narcissist, there is an upside. Consistency. They'll be very consistent. Jon Jones is coming out and he's going to do two fights. He has promised the fans." {0:05 - 0:41}
'The American Gangster' also mentioned that the former UFC light heavyweight champion revealing his planned opponents does help move things along in the division.
He continued:
"So we're crystal clear, Ciryl Gane, who is 1-1 in his last two -- got outwrestled in one by a non-wrestler and outstruck by a non-striker -- is fighting for a world championship. So don't tell me about things that make sense. Jon {Jones} just signed an eight fight deal...And has come out and let us know he's going to do two of those fights." {2:02 - 2:39}
It will be interesting to see whether 'Bones' performs better at heavyweight and if he's able to defeat a top heavyweight to win the vacant title after a three-year layoff.

Jon Jones wanted to fight Francis Ngannou in his return fight
After years of teasing a move up, Jon Jones will officially make his heavyweight bout when he fights Ciryl Gane for the vacant heavyweight championship at UFC 285.
'Bones' revealed that although he looks forward to fighting Gane and possibly becoming a two-division champion, he wants to fight Francis Ngannou. Despite 'The Predator' declining the UFC's contract offer, the former light heavyweight champion wishes him the best in his future.
While speaking with MMA Underground, he said:
"I'm glad that Francis knows his worth. No man has a right to shame another man for fighting for his worth. I was in a very similar situation as Francis as a light heavyweight. I was never happy with my salary. I had to sit out three years, and I missed a lot of time, but now we're here."
A matchup between these two wild men will certainly break the bank.
