Chael Sonnen lists Demetrious Johnson as one of three MMA GOATS
When making a list of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time, Demetrious Johnson should be right near the top. For many, he is the number one undisputed ‘GOAT’ of MMA.
Competing at the highest possible level for well over a decade, ‘Mighty Mouse’ has won multiple championships in some of the biggest combat sports organizations around the world, including ONE Championship, where he currently reigns as the undisputed flyweight world champion.
Former three-time title challenger Chael Sonnen shared his list of MMA greats during a recent episode of his Beyond the Fight show on YouTube. While Sonnen was quick to list some undeniable greats like Georges St-Pierre and Khabib Nurmagomedov, he made note that Johnson not only deserves to be listed alongside those names, he’s the only one still competing at an elite level.
“You have a few GOATs out there. You got Georges St. Pierre, who is mine. Khabib [Nurmagomedov] is many of yours. Demetrious Johnson is for most people. Between all those GOATs only one of them is competing, and [ONE] happens to have him.”
‘Mighty Mouse’ will look to continue his undeniably legendary run as he headlines ONE Championship’s debut on American soil on May 5. 'DJ' will defend his flyweight world title against the man he took it from, Adriano Moraes, in a highly anticipated trilogy bout.

Jarred Gordon ready to play the heel in dream bout with Demetrious Johnson
Fresh off his victory over Joshua Pacio at ONE 164 to capture the ONE strawweight world championship, ‘The Monkey God’ Jarred Gordon hopes to meet a man he’s looked to for inspiration, Demetrious Johnson.
In an interview with MMA Sucka, Gordon spoke about a potential champion vs. champion showdown with ‘Mighty Mouse’ and believes he would play a great heel versus Johnson’s generally loveable personality:
“He [Johnson] needs somebody like me, he needs a heel, he needs somebody who’s gonna push him and have a good fight. Because I think he’s a very durable fighter for a small fighter. So, after a while, we’ll see how it goes for five rounds.”
Fans will undoubtedly get behind a fight between Demetrious Johnson and Jarred Gordon, but first, ‘Mighty Mouse’ will need to focus on closing the chapter on his rivalry with Adriano Moraes this spring.
