"Chama no chama" - Brazilian MMA greats Alex Pereira and Jose Aldo have a heartwarming interaction
Alex Pereira and Jose Aldo had a heartwarming meeting with one another ahead of UFC 307. The moment between the Brazilian combat sports legends was showcased on Pereira's YouTube channel days out from their respective assignments this weekend.
The interaction began with a classic utterance of "Chama no chama" from the light heavyweight champion as he reached in to hug the former multi-time UFC featherweight champion. The two exchanged casual pleasantries before a second hug took place and Pereira walked away giving a thumbs up as the X clip via @Full_Violence ended.
Footage of the two interacting was also featured in a recent installment of UFC Embedded with the crossing of paths clearly getting the attention of many in the mixed martial arts world.

Alex Pereira and Jose Aldo's UFC 307 assignments
Alex Pereira and Jose Aldo will put the niceties on the back burner as they will have the cage door locked behind them this weekend. Each mixed martial artist has a stiff test in front of them as they each occupy spots on the pay-per-view main card this Saturday night.
In the UFC 307 headliner, Pereira will take on another dangerous knockout artist in Khalil Rountree Jr. History is on the line here as Pereira has a chance to usurp a decade-long record held by Ronda Rousey for the fastest path to three title defenses.
While Pereira has a chance to make his third light heavyweight title defense in less than 180 days, Rountree Jr. aims to make good on his first chance at a UFC title.
For Aldo, he will be testing skills with yet another ranked bantamweight in the UFC in 2024. After a period of being retired from MMA after a loss two years ago to current bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili and a multi-fight path in boxing, Aldo seems back firing on all cylinders in the UFC.
After beating ranked contender Jonathan Martinez in his promotional return at UFC 301, he aims to beat another top 15 fighter at 135 pounds in Mario Bautista this weekend. If No. 10-ranked contender Aldo gets his desired outcome this weekend, he'll have beaten the No. 13-ranked Martinez and No. 11-ranked Bautista.
The former multi-time featherweight champion in WEC as well as UFC seems hungry for a sophomore crack at UFC bantamweight gold after falling short in a Petr Yan fight for the vacant 135-pound title years back.
