"Cheated on his wife, cheated on his taxes" - Colby Covington goes off on Jon Jones for sarcastic comment about UFC Tampa loss
Colby Covington has hit back at Jon Jones in response to Jones' comments about his loss at UFC Tampa.
For context, Covington has always been a severe critic of Jones, even though they shared a room at Central Iowa Community College. Jones was thrilled to see 'Chaos' suffer a devastating loss against Joaquin Buckley at UFC Tampa last weekend.
In a recent post on X, the reigning heavyweight champion mocked Covington, pointing to the welterweight's past comment that he was busy advocating for Donald Trump during last month's presidential election. Jones wrote:
''Big shoutout to Colby Covington for skipping training to get President Trump ‘ready’—we all appreciate the sacrifice At least he got to see me win.''
In a recent stream on his Twitch channel, Covington fired back at Jones with some harsh comments, which were posted by combat sports news outlet Happy Punch on X.
Covington said:
''Of course Jones is talking about me, he wishes he looked like me, a guy that was this beautiful and had this much respect. He has no respect. He lost all respect when he started doing drugs and hitting pregnant ladies. There’s nothing to respect about Jon. Cheated his whole career, on his wife, on his taxes, so he’s a terrible person.''
Covington continued:
''Of course he talked about a saint and someone who is a law-abiding citizen like myself! Someone who stands for law and order, the military, troops. So f*** Jon Jones, he’s nothing!”

As for Jones, he successfully defended his heavyweight title against former champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 by securing a third-round knockout win.
Belal Muhammad mocks Coby Covington for his defeat at UFC Tampa
Belal Muhammad and Colby Covington share a great deal of animosity between them, as evidenced by their past social media back-and-forth.
Muhammad was overjoyed to see Covington get a beatdown from Joaquin Buckley at UFC Tampa, which resulted in 'Chaos' suffering a TKO defeat. In a recent interview with MMA Today, 'Remember the Name' said:
''It felt so good to watch him [Covington] bleed. I was just hoping the doctor would let it go a little bit more because now you open the door for Colby to make excuses... He doesn't belong in the top 5 in the UFC. I don't think he'll beat anybody in the top 10 in the UFC.''
