Ciryl Gane discloses expectations for Jon Jones showdown - ‘100 percent he is going to be less faster’

Ciryl Gane is looking forward to his fight against Jon Jones, whom he considers the "G.O.A.T."

Despite any trash talk that may be exchanged between the two fighters leading up to the event, Gane states that he is primarily focused on being a fierce competitor and is excited to go up against one of the greatest in the sport.

In a recent interview with TMZ, 'Bon Gamin' spoke about his preparations for his keenly awaited fight against Jon Jones. During the interview, he made a bold prediction about Jones' speed, stating that he believes he will be able to match and exceed Jones' quickness in the octagon.

Despite the potential challenge, Ciryl Gane appears to be confident in his abilities and is eagerly anticipating the fight at UFC 285. He stated:

"I think [Jones] gonna be less faster than before. He's really normal. When my weight was around [220 to 231 lbs.], I was a little bit faster. So yes, for sure, 100% he's gonna be a little bit less but for a heavyweight, he's gonna have speed."

He further added:

"When you have a fight and you don't have any challenge, that's not exciting. Today I have a big challenge so I'm really excited about that."

Ciryl Gane and seasoned veteran Jon Jones will go head-to-head for the vacant heavyweight gold. Gane, who currently boasts an impressive record of 11-1, is fresh off a thrilling knockout victory over Tai Tuivasa last September. Meanwhile, Jones, who has not competed in a sanctioned UFC fight in over three years, is set to make his much-anticipated heavyweight debut.

Ciryl Gane admits he has "barely trained" since his last bout

Over the course of the past half-decade, Ciryl Gane has experienced a multitude of significant changes in his life. Despite his achievements as a multi-time UFC title challenger, he continues to face challenges when it comes to achieving balance. Nevertheless, Gane is widely regarded as one of the most naturally gifted mixed martial artists, even though his journey to the top has been fraught with difficulties.

Prior to embarking on his MMA career, Gane's experience was mainly limited to Muay Thai, and he was not a seasoned veteran in combat sports. Nonetheless, his raw talent has allowed him to quickly ascend to the upper echelons of MMA and establish himself as a dominant force in the UFC. Despite facing various obstacles along the way, Gane has managed to overcome them and cement his place in the sport's history as a gifted athlete and a skilled competitor.

Ciryl Gane, according to a recent interview with La Sueur, may be much more gifted than previously imagined. Despite his quick development in the UFC, Gane has apparently admitted that he only trains in the weeks leading up to his fights, which is unexpected considering his level of success in the octagon.

'Bon Gamin' stated:

"I love grappling, but unfortunately, I’m lazy, that’s the truth. I only train when a fight is announced. I have a lot of media obligations. Professional opportunities outside of the sport. You can’t say no to all these things. I also have to give time to my family, rest well."

The Frenchman further added:

"If I look back at my career, this a regret, I only train when a fight is announced. I had my fight against Tuivasa, barely trained since then, and now I’m back it since the Jones fight has been announced."
