Colby Covington claims "crybaby" Dustin Poirier ducked him despite 2x pay offer from UFC: "A piece of sh*t off camera"
Colby Covington, who has been out of action for nearly a year, slammed his former teammate-turned-rival Dustin Poirier for allegedly refusing to take a fight with him.
In his recent appearance on Submission Radio, 'Chaos' was asked whether he had ever received an offer from the UFC to fight Poirier. Covington mentioned that he did receive an offer, but 'The Diamond' did not accept the fight, even when the UFC offered him double pay.
Covington said:
“They've wanted that for many pay-per-views now, for a long time. This feud goes way back. You know, he (Poirier) had a part in getting me kicked out of the old gym, and, you know, he's just a little crybaby with feelings. Then all the things he said, 'Oh, it's on sight when I see you,' he made all these fake accusations and lies about me, saying I'm a bad person, this and that. No, dude, I'm not a bad person; you're a bad person. You pretend to be a good person on camera, but you're actually a piece of sh*t off camera.”
Covington continued:
“UFC's approached me with it, but they know I've always been on board. They've also said, 'Hey, we’re not going to waste your time, but we'll come to you once we get Dustin's side done.' But you know, Dustin was even going to get a pay raise, double what he normally gets, and still turned it down. He said, 'Nah, I'm never fighting Colby. I'm not going to let him make any money.'"

Colby Covington claims he can easily beat Shavkat Rakhmonov
As Belal Muhammad pulled out of UFC 310 due to a bone infection, Colby Covington, in the aforementioned interview, said he tried to step in for Muhammad against Shavkat Rakhmonov to save the card. However, the UFC apparently has other plans.
Covington also mentioned that he'd easily beat Rakhmonov if they fought each other. He said:
“I offered, I told the UFC that I was willing to step up to the plate… I can beat him pretty easily. And I think it’s a favorable fight. And it’s a fight that I want in the future. Whether he wins or loses, you know, in December.”
