Colby Covington issues classic response to Ian Garry's trash-talkĀ

Colby Covington is one of the best trash talkers in MMA. Recently, he delivered a cold response to surging welterweight contender Ian Garry's attempts to undermine his legacy.

During a media segment for UFC 292, 'The Future' picked reigning welterweight champion Leon Edwards to make light work of Covington if the duo were to fight. Garry further questioned the hype around 'Chaos':

"Colby gets a lot of hype for nothing. The biggest thing Colby Covington has done is to lose to Kamaru Usman twice."

Catch Ian Garry's comments below (0:23):

Covington has come up short against former champion Kamaru Usman twice, whereas Leon Edwards holds a 2-1 record against 'The Nigerian Nightmare'.

Suffice to say Garry's trash talk didn't go unanswered. Talking to James Lynch in a recent interview, 'Chaos' addressed the Irishman's criticism with a tough-in-cheek response:

"Who's comments? Eh, never heard the name [Ian Garry] before, that's interesting."

Colby Covington is scheduled to take on Leon Edwards at the upcoming UFC 296 in what would be his third undisputed title shot in the UFC. 'Chaos' holds a record of 17-3 and is the No.2-ranked welterweight in the promotion.

Meanwhile, Edwards sports a resume comprising 21 wins against three losses and one no-contest. The welterweight kingpin holds a 12-fight undefeated streak, having not lost a bout since 2015.
