Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal react to Donald Trump becoming the 47th U.S. President: "The woke agenda is dead!"
Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal celebrated Donald Trump becoming the 47th President of the United States. Despite their disagreements, Covington and Masvidal share one thing in common – they are both Trump supporters. The 36-year-old Covington took a shot at the detractors and expressed his joy along with many other UFC personalities.
Trump was declared the victor of the 2024 presidential election between himself and Kamala Harris on Nov. 6 and was elected for a second term. Following the news, Covington took to X and congratulated the 78-year-old, writing:
''The woke agenda is dead! Mainstream media is dead! The American Dream is ALIVE!!! God Bless America and God Bless the 47th President of The United States of America: Donald J Trump!!! #Election2024''
Covington was also present at Mar-a-Lago for the election results viewing party to express his support for Trump among many other prominent figures, including Dana White and Elon Musk. Both White and Musk consistently endorsed the real estate mogul throughout the election season. Championship Rounds took to X and shared a picture of the former welterweight title contender posing with UFC CEO, eliciting a variety of reactions from MMA fans worldwide.
Meanwhile, Masvidal took to X and wrote:
''My president back in office, call it Christmas in November.''

As for the MMA scene, Covington and Masvidal squared off in the main event of UFC 272 in 2022, where the former interim welterweight champion secured a unanimous decision win. Covington last appeared in a title fight against the then champion Leon Edwards at UFC 296 and suffered a unanimous decision loss. Notably, Trump also marked his presence at the pay-per-view event.
Meanwhile, following his retirement from MMA competition, Masvidal returned to combat sports earlier this year, taking on former opponent Nate Diaz in a boxing contest on July 6. However, 'Gamebred' suffered a majority decision loss.

Colby Covington has a positive relationship with Donald Trump and has lauded the 78-year-old on several occasions on social media. In September, Covington and Trump attended a college football game at the University of Alabama's Bryant-Denny Stadium, when the Alabama Crimson Tide faced the Georgia Bulldogs.
