Colby Covington rips "sc*mbag" Khamzat Chimaev for SMASH meme coin controversy ahead of UFC Tampa: "The most disgusting act I've seen in MMA ever"
Colby Covington recently attacked Khamzat Chimaev in his latest tirade. In it, Covington mentioned the 'SMASH' meme scandal and accused Chimaev of defrauding his fans.
For context, earlier this year, Chimaev came under fire from various sections of the MMA community for using his social media platforms to promote the cryptocurrency meme coin 'SMASH'. The 30-year-old's substantial push prompted the value of the cryptocurrency to spike, but a sharp drop the next day made some people believe they had been cheated.
In response, 'Borz's manager Majdi Shammas took responsibility, admitting that he agreed to record a short video promoting the coin's launch without doing the necessary research.
During the UFC Tampa media day, Covington accused Chimaev of fooling all of his supporters and bashed him for his actions, saying:
''He's [Chimaev] an absolute sc*mbag. The fact that he rug pulled all his fans, that's the most disgusting act I've seen in the MMA ever, him and Khabib, absolute scammers like dude you're making enough good money with the UFC, now you're going to rug pull and do a fake meme coin and scam all your fans for millions of dollars...for him to just sh*t on all his fans, it's disgusting I mean that's why he's c*mshot, guy's literally f**king worst person on Earth.''

It's not the first time Covington has targeted Chimaev. 'Chaos' accused the undefeated fighter of ducking a matchup with him during an ESPN MMA interview last year.
Regarding their most recent MMA appearances, Leon Edwards defeated Covington via unanimous decision at UFC 296 last year, thwarting the American's hopes of becoming an undisputed champion.
Meanwhile, Chimaev faced former champion Robert Whittaker at UFC 308 and secured a first-round submission win, breaking Whittaker's jaw in the process.
Colby Covington blasts Jon Jones at UFC Tampa media day
Colby Covington will take on Joaquin Buckley this weekend at UFC Tampa. Covington, well-known for his candid opinions on other MMA figures, has rekindled his feud with Jon Jones.
Covington attacked Jones during the aforementioned media day, bringing up their college days, saying:
''Jon [Jones] has some fruity tendencies...I remember in college he always used to get the fattest girls in the school. I’m talking 300 pounds-plus. Dude, he knows deep down inside, this is not a joke...He’s been with some of the fattest, 300-pound slobs. It’s disgusting. Dude, Jon Jones is an absolute f**king disgrace to this earth. He’s a f**king joke.''
