Colby Covington shares two-word reaction to former president Donald Trump's Twitter account possibly getting reinstated
Colby Covington voiced his support for Donald Trump as the former US president's Twitter account was reinstated. Twitter's new owner Elon Musk recently confirmed that Trump will account back after having won a poll on the platform. Reacting to Musk's tweet, 'Chaos' wrote:
"He’s back! [US flag] #Trump2024"
Trump was banned from Twitter in the aftermath of the January 2021 US Capitol riots. After acquiring the company last month, Musk on Friday tweeted a poll to restore Trump's account. According to the Tesla CEO, 134 million people saw the poll.
Trump's account was reinstated after approximately 51.8% of Twitter users voted in his favor. The total number of votes cast was 15,085,458.
Confirming Trump's comeback on Twitter, Musk wrote:
"The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated. Vox Populi, Vox Dei."
The Latin phrase 'Vox Populi, Vox Dei,' used by Musk translates to 'the voice of the people is the voice of God.'
Trump recently announced that he will run for the Republican presidential nomination in the 2024 US election. Candidates endorsed by Trump recently under-performed on a national basis in the mid-term elections, losing Republican seats in a number of swing states.
When Colby Covington called Donald Trump the 'Greatest President in history'
Colby Covington has always been a vocal supporter of Donald Trump and remains the only UFC fighter to have visited the White House. So it was no surprise to see Covington campaign for Trump at the UFC 272 post-fight presser.
In the aftermath of a dominant decision win over Jorge Masvidal, Covington voiced his support for Trump, labeling him the 'greatest president in history.' Proposing Trump's name for the 2024 presidential elections, 'Chaos' said during the post-fight media scrum:
"Mr. 45 President Trump. Greatest president in history… Our f*cking country is going to sh*t right now without him. So we need him back in 2024. Trump 2024, and you know he’s gonna come back and make America great again."
