Colby Covington used domestic violence allegations to trash Jon Jones for heavyweight move (Throwback)
Jon Jones is set to make his highly anticipated return to the octagon later this weekend at UFC 285. 'Bones' will make his debut in the heavyweight division and will go up against Ciryl Gane for the vacant UFC heavyweight championship.
While many believe Jones will end up becoming a two-division champion this weekend, Colby Covington doesn't seem to agree with the sentiment. While giving his thoughts about Jones moving up to the heavyweight division in an interview with Helen Yee back in 2021, 'Chaos' trashed 'Bones' for his domestic violence allegations against his fiance at the time.
Additionally, Colby Covington questioned the credibility of Jon Jones being in the pound-for-pound rankings and stated:
"Absolutely not, I don't even know if he can beat up his wife still. I mean, the guy is pathetic, I mean he's just grasping his straws now. You know, how he is still in the pound-for-pound rankings?"

Back in September 2021, Jones was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame. However, his night didn't end well after he was later arrested by the Las Vegas police on charges of domestic assault against his then-fiance, Jessie Moses.
When did Jon Jones and Jessie Moses split up?
The former UFC light-heavyweight champion and his ex-fiance Jessie Moses knew each other from the time they were in high school.
After years of dating, the couple got engaged after 'Bones' proposed to Jessie Moses at Easter in 2013. However, they never went on to get married. Moses was Jones' fiancee for nine years before finally leaving him towards the end of 2021.
As mentioned earlier, Jon Jones was arrested in Las Vegas on domestic assault charges in September 2021. The issue was brought to light after he was taken into custody from Caesars Palace in Las Vegas after his youngest daughter Olivia Haven Jones called 911.

A few months later, in February 2022, 'Bones' revealed that Jessie Moses had left him around the same time. In a now-deleted tweet, the former light-heavyweight champion said:
“My fiancée left me about two months ago, today she finalized that she won’t be coming back. If you are a Jon Jones hater, have a toast, I feel like sh*t.”
