"Committed to the vision" - Check out Demetrious Johnson's humble beginnings before becoming an MMA legend

Before 'Mighty Mouse' Demetrious Johnson became an immortalized name in the mixed martial arts world, he was just your Average Joe who worked hard to put food on the table for his family.

Coming from humble beginnings, the MMA goat grew up in Washington with his mom and younger brother. He had a rough childhood so he found a lot of solace in participating in sports - particularly wrestling - in which he most excelled at.

But after giving up a wrestling scholarship in his senior year to stay close to home, 'Mighty Mouse' paid the bills as a construction worker while he trained in something called mixed martial arts.

It was not until he met MMA legend Matt Hume years later, that his life would completely change for the better.

This week, ONE Championship paid tribute to the flyweight GOAT on Instagram, with a throwback reel and caption that highlights his rise to superstardom below.

"Committed to the vision," they wrote.
"Who should ONE Flyweight MMA World Champion Demetrious Johnson defend his throne against next? @mighty."
