Conor Benn would love to see Canelo Alvarez “spank” Chris Eubank Jr. and shares hope of still facing ‘NextGen’ upon his return
Canelo Alvarez is rumored to be negotiating a deal to fight Chris Eubank Jr. next in a surprising turn of events. With Eubank Jr. having competed at one weight close below the Mexican for much of this decade, news of their potential clash has been met with mixed reviews from boxing fans and pundits.
But former opponent of 'NextGen', Conor Benn, would love to see Alvarez and Eubank Jr. face-off. But only because 'The Destroyer' believes that the undisputed super middleweight king would hand the Brit a beatdown.
Benn and Eubank Jr. were set to face off in 2022, but a week before fight night it was revealed that the undefeated fighter had failed a drug test. The highly anticipated clash was canceled, and the 27-year old is still in the process of clearing his name.
During a recent interview with iFL TV, the welterweight was asked for his thoughts on Eubank Jr.'s potential fight against the Mexican superstar, and said:
"I would love to see that because I would love to see his a*se get spanked again. That's it. That's the only reason, I'd just love to see his a*se get spanked to be honest."
When asked if a fight with Eubank Jr. was still a possibility, Benn said:
"It has to [happen]. It has to."

Eddie Hearn scoffs at Chris Eubank Jr.'s 'money grab' against Canelo Alvarez
Leading boxing promoter, Eddie Hearn, who works with Conor Benn, recently shared his thoughts on reports of Canelo Alvarez and Chris Eubank Jr. nearing a deal for a clash.
The pair are reportedly negotiating a deal to fight at Wembley Stadium in London, England, in what would no doubt be a massive event.
But Hearn has rubbished any notion that the potential fight would be competitive, and believes that 'NextGen' knows he has no chance of winning, and is merely searching for a mega-payday.
The Matchroom Boxing chairman was recently interviewed by Boxing News, where he said:
"For me, I think a welterweight Conor Benn beats [Eubank Jr.]. Eubank, although he is game, he's smart enough to know he can't compete with Canelo Alvarez at 168 [pounds]. Listen, if the fortune is there, he's taking the fight. So good luck to him, if he lands it. But we're pushing our man, Edgar Berlanga, WBA mandatory - big strong super middleweight that can really punch. Mexico against Puerto Rico."
