Conor McGregor wins HUGE BET wagered minutes before Alex Pereira and Khalil Rountree Jr. touched gloves at UFC 307

Conor McGregor had been tweeting non-stop as the UFC 307 main card unfolded in Salt Lake City on Saturday, Oct. 5. With only minutes remaining before the headlining fight between Alex Pereira and Khalil Rountree Jr., the Irishman wagered a staggering amount on a particular stipulation.

McGregor tweeted that he was betting a million dollars on a knockout happening in the main event.

"I AM PUTTING A MILLION U.S DOWN ON A KO TAKING PLACE ONE WAY OR THE OTHER HERE IN THIS MAIN EVENT, @Duelbits. Odds are 1/5. A million wins back $200k. Let’s see…"

He did not pick a side but only wagered on the outcome.

However, in another tweet, he predicted that Rountree Jr. had a chance of securing an "insane KO win" against Pereira, but 'Poatan' could also leave his rival unconscious with a jumping knee.

"Whoever starts throwing little flicky kicks in this, the first person to throw a little flick kick in this, is losing. I guarantee it."

Previously, Conor penned furious tweets about Mario Bautista securing a split decision against Jose Aldo and Kevin Holland's corner throwing in the towel against Roman Dolidze.

While McGregor's predictions did not exactly come true, Pereira did end up knocking Rountree Jr. out in the fourth round, securing yet another successful title defense in light heavyweight.

McGregor tweeted that the last-minute bet made him $200,000 richer. He gave due props to Pereira and called for a fight between him and Jon Jones next.

"$200k baby! THE RICH GET RICHER! Called it play by play! What a fighter, Poatan! Incredible!"
