Conor McGregor calls Dustin Poirier's foundation a "scam" amid Khabib Nurmagomedov collaboration
Conor McGregor recently criticized Dustin Poirier and called his charitable foundation a "scam" after it emerged that Khabib Nurmagomedov could be interested in buying the Louisiana native's UFC 302 fight kit.
Poirier and his wife started The Good Fight Foundation in 2018 as an international nonprofit organization. The charity monetizes Poirier's fight memorabilia by auctioning off pieces after high-profile UFC events or statement victories. The foundation has helped the Poirier family serve local Louisiana communities by taking care of food insecurity, health care, and environmental disaster relief.
During a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, Poirier opened up about auctioning off his UFC 302 fight kit. Outlining that there was an issue with the winning bid falling through, 'The Diamond' stated that Nurmagomedov's team reached out and showed interest in purchasing the kit. He said:
"Somebody outbid the last bidder at the last minute and didn't pay. People do that all the time, people suck, man... Ali [Abdelaziz] reached out to me, Khabib wants to buy it. For the fight with Islam [Makhachev], so I'm trying to figure that out."
After MMA Fighting shared a clip from the interview on Instagram, McGregor took to the post's comments section to express his thoughts on the matter. It appears the Irishman was ticked off by the idea of his former rivals doing business and slammed both of them in the comments section.
The Irishman first lashed out at Poirier for getting submitted in the fifth round by Makhachev at UFC 302 and wrote:
"Buy the shorts that he quit in the most important fight of his life."
McGregor then took aim at Poirier and his wife for their foundation and wrote:
"Scammers, him and his wife. SCAMMERS."
He continued:
"BROKE SCAMMER ALERT!!"
McGregor then took aim at Nurmagomedov's recent run-in with the law and wrote:
"Khabib a terrorist in serious debt with his own country in which he has now exiled from. You couldn’t make this sh*t up. Dustin is a fool. An a**hat. That foundation is a scam!"

Dustin Poirier on Conor McGregor withdrawing from UFC 303 fight
Conor McGregor was set to face Michael Chandler at UFC 303 last month but was forced to withdraw from the bout due to a toe injury. While the bout has seemingly been postponed indefinitely, Dustin Poirier believes it is an unnecessary delay.
During an interview on The MMA Hour show, Poirier dismissed McGregor's injury as serious and slammed the Irishman for withdrawing from his UFC 303 booking. He said:
"Dude, a pinky toe? It's like, I've fought with so much injuries... I've fought with a lot of injuries over the years, but a pinky toe doesn't seem like a reason to pull out of a fight, you know?"
