Conor McGregor cheekily promotes sports brand looking back at hilarious Miami Heat mascot incident

Conor McGregor re-visited his hilarious moment with the Miami Heat mascot, Burnie, to promote one of his businesses.

In June 2023, the Miami Heat were playing at home inside the Kaseya Center for games three and four of the NBA Finals. During the halftime show, McGregor made an appearance on the court and participated in a skit where he "knocked out" Miami's mascot and then sprayed him with his TIDL pain relief spray.

Nearly a year later, McGregor recently re-posted the viral footage on X and added the following caption to promote his product:

"@tidlsport say goodbye to pain!"

Conor McGregor received slight backlash for the halftime show skit, as the Miami Heat mascot ended up going to the hospital for minor injuries. The person playing Burnie was later confirmed to be sent home with a valuable lesson to not mess with the former two-division UFC champion.

Conor McGregor looks to silence the doubters when he ends three-year layoff at UFC 303

Conor McGregor may be undefeated in halftime shows, but fans are more concerned about his return to the Octagon. The Dublin native hasn't fought since July 2021 when he suffered a gruesome leg injury that prematurely ended his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier.

McGregor overcame a lengthy recovery process before fully returning to training. 'The Notorious' then faced several other factors keeping him from booking his next fight, including USADA, obligations for the 'Road House' movie remake, and scheduling conflicts.

On June 29, the former two-division UFC champion will make his highly-anticipated return during International Fight Week. Standing in McGregor's way of emerging victorious in the UFC 303 main event is Michael Chandler, who was his opposite coach on 'The Ultimate Fighter Season 31.'

Chandler is also coming off a longer-than-expected layoff, as his last fight was a third-round submission loss against Poirier in November 2022. Since then, 'Iron' has waited patiently for McGregor so they can settle their differences from TUF 31 in a high-paying main event.

McGregor vs Chandler goes down inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. It should be noted that the must-see matchup is scheduled to take place in the welterweight division (170 pounds).
