Conor McGregor denies assaulting a woman during birthday celebrations on his yacht

UFC superstar Conor McGregor was recently sued on charges of assaulting a woman on his yacht. However, the fighter has denied all the allegations against himself.

On July 14, 2022, Conor McGregor celebrated his birthday with family and friends at a nightclub in Ibiza. According to the victim, a 42-year-old woman, McGregor invited her to an afterparty on his yacht following the beach celebrations, but the fighter soon became violent towards her.

In a report by ESPN, the Irishman's spokesperson Karen Kessler issued a statement affirming that McGregor has denied all allegations made by the guest on his boat:

"Mr. McGregor is steadfast in his denial of all the accusations made by a guest on his boat."

According to the Spanish newspaper Ultima Hora, the woman initially reported that someone other than McGregor had assaulted her right after the incident.

Now, however, the woman has changed her story.

A judge in Ibiza is set to decide whether or not Conor McGregor will face felony charges following the woman's accusations. The woman, who remained anonymous, claimed that upon encountering McGregor initially, she was too shocked to accuse him and wanted to quickly return to her hotel.

As a police investigation is currently underway, the judge will review her statement as well as that of the witnesses before deciding on the fate of the Irishman.

Conor McGregor's coach confident that the Irishman will return to the octagon this year

In a recent appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, McGregor's head coach John Kavanagh revealed that the Irishman is definitely getting inside the cage this year.

Speaking to Helwani, the SBG coach said:

"I'd be willing to bet my house on it... I'm very very confident we will see Conor back in the octagon this year."

John Kavanagh also revealed who could potentially face Conor McGregor when the UFC star makes his much-anticipated return. Kavanagh stated that since there’s a long list of fighters wanting to fight McGregor upon his return, an opponent who would excite 'The Notorious' shall be signed up for the comeback fight.

Suggesting a few potential opponents, the coach said:

"You got the great Nate Diaz as obviously in there, Justin Gaethje I think would be an interesting matchup... The Poirier fight probably, we have done that so many times at this stage and it's just a weird one and... Michael Chandler, a great fighter, a great athlete. They are all brilliant. They are all gonna bring something new to the contest."
