Conor McGregor eyes return to boxing, names former foe as potential opponent
Conor McGregor is currently coaching fighters on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 31 opposite rival coach Michael Chandler. While the two are expected to clash inside the octagon post the completion of the show, McGregor is also seemingly interested in a return to boxing.
'Notorious' remains the only fighter to be granted an exemption by Dana White for a one-off crossover boxing matchup against Floyd Mayweather back in 2017, which he ended up losing via a tenth-round TKO. McGregor is now eyeing a return to the squared circle against none other than former opponent Jose Aldo. The Dubliner wrote in a recent tweet:
"Me and Aldo should box"
McGregor's comments came in the aftermath of Aldo's boxing match against fellow UFC veteran Jeremy Stephens on the Gamebred Boxing 4 card on Saturday night. While Aldo's jab landing was the story of the first few rounds, 'Lil' Heathen' started holding his own from round 4. The bout was declared a controversial majority draw after six closely contested rounds with 'Junior' winning on one of the scorecards.

Jose Aldo claims Conor McGregor once left red panties at his door
Conor McGregor challenged Jose Aldo for the featherweight title at UFC 194 back in 2015. The Dubliner was at the top of his trash-talking game, which visibly took a toll on his Brazilian opponent.
'Notorious' starched one of the best featherweight fighters of all time with a beautiful left hook, thirteen seconds into the UFC 194 main-event. While Aldo's glorious career will forever be marred by the vicious knockout loss against McGregor, the pair have since developed a mutual respect for each other.
The Irishman recently praised Aldo after 'Junior' was recently inducted into the UFC's Hall of Fame.
Jose Aldo also harbors no ill feelings towards Conor McGregor and acknowledges the Irishman as his most financially lucrative fight. The Brazilian also recently revealed that 'Notorious' had sent him 'red panties' in good humor after his win over Frankie Edgar in 2016. Aldo said during a media scrum at UFC 283:
"We were in the Red Rock.. in Vegas and we were like window to window, and that was the night that I beat Frankie Edgar. So he just sent it out [Red Panties]sas a light hearted joke."
