Conor McGregor is expecting a return to UFC by year-end
Conor McGregor dispelled concerns about his retirement, confirming a UFC comeback by year's end against Michael Chandler.
The Irishman last fought in July 2021, suffering a leg injury that sidelined him for an extended period. The Irishman was scheduled to make a comeback against Chandler in June 2024 at UFC 303, however, he had to pull out due to his injury.
Now, appearing in a recent interview with ESPN MMA, McGregor, claiming to have fully healed, expressed his eagerness to return:
"My comeback is scheduled for the year, sometime the end of this year, closing out the show. So, I was close to returning, we had an incident and had a postponement had to happen and, you know, it is what it is. We take it on the chin, we rock on. The fight is rescheduled for the end of this calendar year, so I'm excited about that and eager to get back."
