Conor McGregor impressed by boxer Teofimo Lopez showing off the "McGregor flies" workout routine made famous by the UFC star

Conor McGregor was left impressed after former lightweight world champion boxer Teofimo Lopez demonstrated the perfect "McGregor flies" workout while training.

Lopez is a professional American boxer who previously held the IBF lightweight world title from 2019 to 2021 and the WBA and WBO titles between 2020 and 2021. According to The Ring magazine and the Transnational Boxing Board, 'Takeover El Brooklyn' is currently the third-best active lightweight in the sport.

In a video uploaded to Twitter, Lopez showed off Conor McGregor's iconic "flies" workout routine by lifting himself into the air and performing multiple core stretches. In the video, the American said:

"McGregor flies. You know the McGregor flies? Y'all don't know about the McGregor flies? I mean, you should know about the McGregor flies. Hey champ, let me know when you wanna train with me!"

'The Notorious' was honored by the post from Lopez and replied to the tweet:

"Honored, champion! #steelcore"

Conor McGregor is currently filming for his feature film debut in a Hollywood remake of 1989's Road House. The movie, which also stars Jake Gyllenhaal, is one of the reasons the Irishman is yet to return to the octagon. McGregor appears to have fully recovered from his freak leg injury that happened last year and is expected to make his UFC return in 2023.

Alexander Volkanovski confirms his desire to test himself against Conor McGregor

UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski believes the sky is the limit for his career after confirming that he hopes to fight Conor McGregor once he faces Islam Makhachev for the lightweight title.

Volkanovski has dominated the 145-pound division and is now expected to make the move to 155 lbs and earn himself double champ status. Following Islam Makhachev's impressive win at UFC 280, Volkanovski was invited into the octagon, and the stage was set for a PPV headline between the two next year.

In a recent interview with ESPN MMA, 'The Great' stated that the only way to legitimize his legacy in the UFC is to have a win over McGregor, the first fighter to hold the 145 and 155-pound belts simultaneously:

"There's only been four champions [in the featherweight division] and I've beaten every single one of them. The only one I haven't fought is Conor McGregor. He ain't fighting featherweight again...I'll do 170 [pounds], I'll do whatever. I'm bulking up. Have you seen what I'm eating? Four thousand calories."
