Conor McGregor launches scathing attack on "most tone deaf" Irish government amid Coolock riots
Conor McGregor was silent with his opinions of the Irish government for a while but resumed his criticism of its operation on July 19. McGregor was both condemning and exasperated in his response, calling the decisions made by those in charge "tone deaf."
McGregor responded to a video on X showcasing some of the current riots in Coolock with his thoughts. 'The Notorious' pushed for a "general election" while calling the current state of his home country "pitiful."
McGregor wrote:
"Shame on our government! The 33rd Dail Eireann, the worst, most tone deaf, divisive government in Ireland's history. All 3 coalition party leaders resigning from their post also. Pitiful! BRING ON OUR GENERAL ELECTION, WE ARE READY!"
The video covered recent fires set by frustrated citizens on an asylum-seeking building in Coolock. The local police reports claim the responsible individuals "abused" the responding officers with rocks and bricks while several were arrested on-site.
McGregor has commented on his opinion of the Irish government on multiple occasions in the past, typically with a negative point of view.
Conor McGregor's trip to Spain
While Conor McGregor was critical of the Irish government amid the tension in Coolock, 'The Notorious' is not actually currently within the nation's borders. Instead, the 35-year-old is enjoying a trip to Spain as he was present for a BKFC promotional event on July 18.
McGregor documented most of his trip on social media, sharing highlights of a party he hosted after attending the BKFC 67 announcement press conference.
McGregor joined Dave Feldman and the rest of the BKFC management team in promoting the company's inaugural event in Spain. The fight card will be held in the Marbella Arena on Oct. 12, headlined by undefeated lightweights Franco Tenaglia and Tony Soto. The fight will be for the promotion's lightweight title, which is currently vacant.
