Conor McGregor liquor company: Proper 12 Whiskey to donate massive sum to Savannah Fire Dept
UFC superstar Conor McGregor is one of the wealthiest MMA fighters in the world. The Irishman seems to be making good use of his enormous wealth, being a part of many philanthropic endeavors.
McGregor's recent St. Patrick's Day visit to Savannah, Georgia, proved very helpful to the city's fire department. The UFC fighter's Irish Whiskey brand Proper No. 12 is set to donate a massive sum of $100,000 to the Savannah Fire Department.
According to a report by WTOC 11, the proceeds from his donation will be utilized to procure gear bags that will protect firefighters from carcinogenic exposure. In a statement given to the publication, Department Chief, Elzie Kitchen revealed that he also hopes to use a portion of the donation to fund programs aiming to hire more women.
As per Kitchen, McGregor's efforts greatly helped raise the overall morale of the department and put a smile on the firefighters and their families. Speaking about the very generous donation, he said:
"You know, we receive some donations, but none from an individual in that amount. When we saw the number, we were like, are they serious? And they were serious. We’re able to fulfill some needs of the firefighters that we have. We’re able to implement some programs I want to have to make us a more diverse department. And the funds were actually needed."
