Conor McGregor rallies behind Katie Taylor–Amanda Serrano rematch with Eddie Hearn, offers to pay for the event

Conor McGregor has rallied behind fellow Irish native Katie Taylor ahead of her second fight with Amanda Serrano. Rumors of the fight being held in Dublin at the famous Gaelic games stadium Croke Park have begun to spread, and 'Notorious' has offered to foot the bill in order to make the event possible.

McGregor took to Twitter to make the following offer:

"The extra security bill is 500k to have Katie Taylor fight at croke park? I will sponsor the event to see this happen."

Eddie Hearn, the promoter for the Taylor–Serrano fight, replied with the following:

"Let's talk"

Conor McGregor then requested information on the scope of the event and whether it would still be possible to host:

"What’s the craic lad. ve me the current landscape. I’m in. Is this doable still? Or is it a double show, the point first with croke park later in year, post the GAA season? I’m in either way. She better be getting her worth for this also."

Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano went to war for 10 rounds in April 2022 with Taylor being awarded a narrow split-decision victory. Both fighters have defeated other opponents since their battle last year, and the rematch will no doubt be fireworks.

Conor McGregor famously bragged about selling out football stadiums when he first entered the UFC. It seems that he is willing to help his countrywoman try and achieve the goal.

Liam Neeson blasts Conor McGregor and the UFC in recent interview

Liam Neeson, an actor famous for roles in movies such as 'Taken', 'Star Wars' and 'Schindler's List', was recently interviewed by Men's Health Magazine.

Neeson was asked to share his thoughts on Conor McGregor and the UFC as a whole. The actor did not mince his words and said:

"UFC I can't stand. That to me is like a bar fight. I know the practitioners are like, 'No you're wrong - the months of training we do...' Why don't you just grab a beer bottle and hit the guy over the head? That's the next stage of the UFC. I hate it... that little leprechaun Conor McGregor, he gives Ireland a bad name. I know he's fit, and I admire him for that. But I can't take it."

In the early days of the UFC, many found the idea of cage fighting less than palatable. MMA was often labeled as human cockfighting and barbaric. However, as the years have progressed, the perception of the sport has changed for many people.

Liam Neeson does not seem to be one of them.
