Conor McGregor's coach claims Pennsylvania attacker motivated by Donald Trump's repeated comparisons to "Hitler" for close to a decade

Conor McGregor's longtime coach, John Kavanagh, has shared his thoughts on how Donald J. Trump's comparisons to Adolf Hitler likely contributed to his recent assassination attempt. The former president was in Pennsylvania for a presidential rally on July 13, where he was caught in the ear by a bullet.

Trump has polarised America since his first presidential campaign ahead of his election as the 45th U.S. President in 2016. His past comments have left him labeled a bigot and misogynist, among other things, and he has been compared to Hitler on several occasions.

But Kavanagh believes that the comparisons have pushed some American citizens past the brink. He took to X and wrote this:

"Tell millions of people he's "literally Hitler" for almost a decade and there'll be a couple of lunatics who'll take matters into their own hands."

Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler unite over Donald J. Trump assassination attempt

Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler have shared few amicable moments since their rivalry was birthed during season 31 of 'The Ultimate Fighter'. But in a stunning turn of events, Donald J. Trump's assassination attempt has given them something to agree upon.

The pair of UFC stars have gone back-and-forth on X many times, mainly firing personal insults at one another. But after the recent assassination attempt on Trump at a presidential rally in Pennsylvania, both 'The Notorious' and Chandler took to X to share support for the former president.

McGregor took to X and wrote this:

"A 78-year-old multiple billionaire, he should be on a yacht on the med touring golf courses. But he is not. He is in Pennsylvania spitting out bullets! Running for the love of his country! God speed Donald! God bless the United States."

His upcoming opponent responded to the Irishman and writing this:

"We stand united on this one… @TheNotoriousMMA."

Their original fight date, set for UFC 303 on June 29, was altered after 'The Notorious' broke his toe several weeks before fight night, forcing him to withdraw. But following their friendly exchange on X, McGregor responded to 'Iron' with a positive update about their clash, writing:

"I talked to Dana today about our new date, all looking good! 24’ for sure."
