Conor McGregor's latest business launch explains antics at Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois event
Conor McGregor's animated presence at the Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois clash on Sept. 21 became the talking point among combat sports fans. The Irishman, who has a knack for commanding attention, strolled into Wembley Stadium with a cigar hanging from his lips, which he carried with him throughout the event.
However, the antics drew criticism from several fans, most notably UFC legend Michael Bisping. The former UFC middleweight champion labeled McGregor a “douchebag” for his behavior. He criticized McGregor for wandering around the venue with an unlit cigar, suggesting that it came off as pretentious.
That being said, it has now come to light that McGregor’s antics were part of a broader marketing campaign for his new venture, Notorious Cigars. With his history of successful business ventures, including the launch of the Forged Irish Stout and Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey., McGregor seems to be leveraging his star power once again.
Notorious Cigars is positioned to be an extension of the McGregor brand, which reflects boldness and charisma. The Instagram account of the latest venture features a tagline that reads:
"Premium handcrafted cigars inspired by the bold spirit of @thenotoriousmma Luxury and exclusivity in every box."

McGregor is currently working to return to action in 2025 after being sidelined due to an injured toe, which forced him out of the June encounter against Michael Chandler. Currently, 'The Notorious' is weighing his options, especially with Chandler set for a rematch against Charles Oliveira at UFC 309.
In a recent interview with The Schmo, McGregor expressed interest in facing Chandler, claiming that "we’ve had our beef" and "it’s not settled." However, he also aims to revisit his rivalries with Nate Diaz and Dustin Poirier to put a definitive end to their series.
