Conor McGregor sends heartfelt holiday wishes to fans while posing with Proper 12 Christmas tree
Conor McGregor is currently in a bitter legal battle with former friend and teammate Artem Lobov, but that didn't dampen his mood or stop him from getting into the holiday spirit.
'The Notorious' tweeted a photo of many Proper Twelve whiskey bottles stacked up in the shape of a large Christmas tree. The former two-division UFC champion also included a message directed at his fans that wished them well during this festive time of year, writing:
"Happy holidays ya'll! Wishing you and yours a Proper good one this year"
'The Notorious' took a break from blasting his enemies on social media with a heartfelt birthday message to UFC Hall of Famer B.J. Penn, and is now spreading the holiday cheer. While there were fans who commented wishing McGregor the same, some couldn't help but take advantage of the photo, writing:
"@TheNotoriousMMA Any chance I can have Artems money he lost court? Sound"
"@TheNotoriousMMA Look at that titanium raptor shinbone"
"@TheNotoriousMMA The Champ: "Happy Holidays! From me and Jonny heads court fees!"
'Mystic Mac' is expected to re-enter the USADA testing pool in February and begin negotiating his return to the octagon. His return will garner plenty of attention, especially considering how long he has been out of action and his first press conference will be an interesting one.
Conor McGregor is favored in hypothetical return fight against Michael Chandler
Despite being inactive as a result of his leg injury, Conor McGregor still opened up as the favorite in a hypothetical bout against Michael Chandler.
This is somewhat of a surprise as Chandler has been active since making his octagon debut at UFC 257, and has earned post-fight bonuses in 4-out-of-5 bouts in the promotion. It's also important to note that a bout between the two would be contested at welterweight, a division 'The Notorious' has competed in more recently than 'Iron' has.
UFC President Dana White has stated that the bout could be a possibility, which has fans excited. While speaking with MMA Junkie, Chandler opened up about possibly fighting the former two-division UFC champion when he returns, saying:
"The way that Conor McGregor starts fights, the way I start fights, it's a car crash in the middle of an octagon. Hopefully in the middle of T-Mobile Arena here in Vegas in July, so it's gonna be huge, it's gonna be awesome, and I believe it's gonna happen."
Based on where they currently stand in terms of the lightweight division, 'Mystic Mac' vs. 'Iron' seems like the logical fight to book.
