Conor McGregor "showman," Colby Covington "clown" - Top UFC fighters get nicknames from Khamzat ChimaevĀ
Khamzat Chimaev has continued his verbal tirade against several of the UFC's superstars in a recent word-association video posted online.
'Borz', one of the wildest and most mercurial fighters on the roster, has called out many of the promotion's top fighters in the past, including Alex Pereira, Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman.
During a recent video produced by Red Corner MMA, Chimaev was asked to share the first word that came to mind when certain fighters were named.
He said:
"[Colby Covington] Clown. [Jorge Masvidal] Fake gangster... [Alex Pereira] Alex Pereira... scared boy. [Robert Whittaker] Good boy. [Sean Strickland] Funng guy. [Conor McGregor] Showman."

Khamzat Chimaev has targeted Colby Covington in past interviews and claimed that 'Chaos' has turned down the opportunity to fight him several times. Chimaev also stated that current middleweight champion Alex Pereira declined the chance to fight him in the first quarter of this year.
Since arriving in the UFC, 'Borz' has amassed a record of 6-0. Other than a close fight with Gilbert Burns at UFC 273, Chimaev has dismantled all of his opponents.
Having competed at both welterweight and middleweight, 'Borz' has ambitions on becoming a double-champ, which led to him calling out fighters in both weight classes.
Despite being ranked No.3 in the welterweight division, rumors of a bout with former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker have begun to circulate. However, there have been no official reports from the UFC yet.
Khamzat Chimaev shares thoughts on possible matchup with Robert Whittaker
Khamzat Chimaev is currently training in Thailand as he awaits his next fight announcement. 'Borz' recently commented on the possibility of him fighting Robert Whittaker next, as both men are without an opponent.
Whittaker was scheduled to fight Paulo Costa at UFC 284 this weekend, but after negotiations between 'Borrachinha' and the promotion's top brass soured, the fight was canceled.
A bout between Chimaev and Whittaker would see the Chechen-born Swede re-enter the middleweight scene.
The general consensus is that 'Borz' will focus his efforts on winning the title at 170 pounds before moving up in weight. But with both men available to fight, it seems that the UFC could organize this matchup.
Khamzat Chimaev appears excited about the possibility of facing Robert Whittaker. He told Red Corner MMA:
"I think I will fight Robert Whittaker [next]. He's got no opponent. Paulo Costa ran away after talking much about me and Robert. So I will fight Whittaker. I want this fight, although, I like him as a human being. He is a solid guy, doesn't trash-talk, doesn't cross any lines. We are going to have fun at the press conference and fight each other."
