Conor McGregor sucks and won't win another fight - Belal Muhammad uses Sean O'Malley vs. Petr Yan controversy to troll 'The Notorious'; the Irishman responds
Belal Muhammad took a surprising dig at Conor McGregor while discussing Sean O'Malley and Petr Yan's controversial UFC 280 clash. While many disagreed with the judges on O'Malley's split-decision win, some refused to label the close affair as a complete "robbery."
Muhammad, having rewatched the fight, arrived at none of the aforementioned conclusions. 'Remember The Name', out of nowhere, concluded that Conor McGregor will never win another fight. The 34-year-old wrote on Twitter:
"Rewatched the O’Malley yan fight 3 times and I think that at the end of the day Conor sucks snd wont win another fight"
McGregor seemingly took Muhammad's jibe in good humor. The Irishman somewhat uncharacteristically replied to 'Remember the Name' with laughter emojis.
Sean O'Malley stood up to the biggest test of his career, earning a split-decision victory over one of the toughest bantamweights on the planet. Controversial or not, O'Malley has proved that he is capable of hanging in the octogon with elite 135-pounders.
In his post-fight interview, O'Malley had stated that he needed to rewatch the fight, which he initially thought could have gone both ways. Claiming to have rewatched the fight, 'Sugar' is now seemingly convinced of his victory.
Dana White confirms Conor McGregor is not in USADA's testing pool
Conor McGregor's octagon return remains doubtful with the Irishman currently shooting for his Hollywood debut, which is a remake of the 80s cult classic Road House. Further doubts about his return arose when it was revealed that the Irishman has not been tested since the third quarter of 2021.
According to USADA rules, an athlete must be in its testing pool for a minimum of six months in order to compete. That said, the testing agency has previously specified that an athlete might be exempt from the six-month duration under special circumstances.
However, Dana White recently confirmed that McGregor is not currently in the USADA testing pool. The UFC president also confirmed that 'The Notorious' would have to be in the pool for a minimum of six months, further delaying the Irishman's return to at least mid-2023.
MMA Junkie’s Farah Hannoun recently asked White at the UFC 280 presser:
"Speaking of USADA, it appears on the database that Conor McGregor hasn’t been tested this year. Would he have to complete six months before he could compete?”
White replied:
“Yeah.”
Hannoun then followed up by asking if this meant that McGregor couldn't return until six months' time, to which White confirmed that this was indeed true.
