Conor McGregor tweets three-word reaction to Alex Pereira's heavyweight demand from UFC
Following Alex Pereira's dominant victory over Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC 307, former two-division champion Conor McGregor took to social media to express his admiration for the Brazilian. The Irishman also suggested that Pereira should be given the opportunity to compete for the heavyweight title.
Pereira, who is currently the light heavyweight champion, has previously expressed interest in moving up to the heavyweight division. After his victory over Rountree Jr., he reiterated his desire. Speaking in the post-fight presser, he said:
“If UFC wants to please me - maybe fight in Heavywweight some day would be something that can really please me.”
In response to Pereira's statement, McGregor posted a concise three-word message:
“PAY THE MAN”

Conor McGregor reacts to Khalil Rountree Jr.'s future in the UFC despite loss to Alex Pereira
Despite losing to Alex Pereira, Khalil Rountree Jr. showcased his skills and toughness, even dropping the reigning champion with a powerful right hand.
Conor McGregor was impressed by Rountree Jr.'s performance and believes the latter has what it takes to be a future title contender. In a now-deleted post, he wrote:
"Truly! This man is the real deal! He will remain in this UFC LHW title picture. You may have not seen the last of Khalil Rountree Jr.''

As for 'The Notorious', he is scheduled to make his UFC comeback next year, as confirmed by UFC CEO Dana White recently:
"Let me tell you this, I was the one this year saying I don't think he's going to fight this year, amid all the talk and everything else. Conor McGregor will fight next year, early 2025."
