Conor McGregor vs. Colby Covington: What does 'Chaos' think of the matchup?

Colby Covington believes that Conor McGregor is past his prime and doesn't have the same drive he used to have at the beginning of his career.

However, speaking to the media during the post-fight press conference at UFC 286, the former two-time welterweight title challenger stated that he would however welcome a fight against the Irishman.

Covington believes a fight between him and the former two-division champion could be quite lucrative for the UFC:

"If Conor wants to fight one day and do business, it's probably the biggest fight UFC could ever do. As you can see [from] the numbers this weekend, I've drawn to this event... These other idiots in the main event, they have no charisma, no one cares about them."

To the surprise of fight fans, 'Chaos' tipped the scales at 170 pounds at the UFC 286 weigh-ins to serve as the official backup for the event's headliner featuring Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman. But Covington didn't get to grace the octagon since the main event went ahead without a hitch.

UFC superstar Conor McGregor is scheduled to make his promotional return in a fight against Michael Chandler later this year. However, neither the date nor the location for the event has been confirmed by the promotion.

McGregor and Chandler recently wrapped up the shoot for Season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), where the duo served as opposing coaches.

Conor McGregor says that he is "too slick" for Michael Chandler

UFC superstar Conor McGregor is confident about getting his hand raised against Michael Chandler. McGregor believes that 'Iron's' fighting style is nothing too special or something that he hasn't faced before in his career.

In a recent interview on My Mom's Basement with Robbie Fox, the Irishman made his prediction for the upcoming fight, reiterating how technically superior he is over the former Bellator lightweight champion:

"For Chandler, I'm just too slick for him. I'm just too skilled for him. He hasn't fought someone like me. I have fought someone like him though... It's, in general, the mixed martial arts style right? That kind of short wrestler. It's kind of MMA, isn't it? It ain't nothing peculiar. I've fought against such [fighters] for many, many years... It'll be my job now on fight night to show the difference in level [between me and him]."
