Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather: 'The Notorious' discloses how the boxer bailed on a massive verbal agreement
Conor McGregor recently revealed that Floyd Mayweather bailed out of an agreement that would see the two combat sports giants face each other in the cage. The Irishman met the legendary pugilist in the boxing ring in August 2017 in a match that recorded the second-highest pay-per-view sales in history.
In a recent interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News, 'The Notorious' opened up about his verbal agreement with Mayweather, which involved them first boxing each other and then fighting under MMA rules:
"That was the original. It was a verbal agreement, I box him, and he fights me. But you know, he didn't honor it. He didn't honor it yet. Who knows? I would go against him in another boxing bout, I'd like another crack at it."
Conor McGregor further joked about tricking Floyd Mayweather into fighting him by bending the rules of boxing:
"I can always say its another boxing fight and then just bend the rules a little bit when we're in there maybe."
While it's unlikely that we'll see a McGregor-Mayweather MMA fight anytime soon, it was reported that the Irishman recently concluded filming the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF). The former two-division champion will feature opposite Michael Chandler as a coach on season 31 of the hit reality show.

Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz have had one of the most intense rivalries in the sport of MMA, with the two men already having faced each other twice in the octagon. Diaz won their first bout with a second-round submission but lost the rematch via majority decision. A trilogy bout between the two has long been a subject of discussion among combat sports fans, and it seems the UFC was also on board to deliver the fight.
'The Notorious' recently revealed that he was originally meant to coach TUF 31 opposite Nate Diaz before the two fought in the octagon for a third time. However, the fight didn't materialize as Diaz left the promotion after fighting out his contract.
In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, Conor McGregor confirmed that he still plans on fighting Nate Diaz for a third time:
"The Ultimate Fighter just kind of presented itself, it was originally to be against Nate. It was me versus Nate... I'll get that again...That trilogy will happen at some stage for sure... We must fight. We're one apiece, it's a great rivalry, and it was a great fight, so we gotta square that away for sure...
