Cris Cyborg remains steadfast in disapproval as Kayla Harrison eyes UFC gold after beating Ketlen Vieira despite hematoma

Former UFC featherweight queen Cris Cyborg did not seem too impressed with Kayla Harrison's performance at UFC 307. After emerging victorious in her second UFC bout, Harrison spoke to Joe Rogan for her post-fight interview where she shared that her goal in the promotion was to become the best in the world.

MMA journalist Helen Yee uploaded a post on X, praising the Olympic gold medalist for her comments.

The post caught Cyborg's attention, who responded that the winner of the upcoming PFL clash between her and Larissa Pacheco should be hailed as the best fighter in the world.

The Brazilian uploaded another post on X, arguing that if Harrison wished to lock horns against the best in the world, she would need to go up against the winner of Cyborg vs. Pacheco.

"If Kayla Harrison's goal was to fight the best in the world, she should be fighting the winner of Cyborg X Pacheco."

Harrison went up against Ketlen Vieira on the main card of UFC 307. The event was held on Oct. 5 at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The fight proved to be a competitive affair and the Olympic gold medalist suffered a hematoma during the bout.

The contest eventually went the 15-minute distance and ended with a unanimous decision victory for Harrison. The three judges scored the bout 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28 in favor of the 34-year-old.

In her post-fight octagon interview, Harrison shared her reasoning behind joining the UFC and proceeded to call for a shot at UFC gold.

"I came to the UFC because I wanted to challenge myself. I didn't come here for money, I didn't come here for fame, I came here because I want to be the best in the world and this is where the best girls in the world are... Ladies, enjoy it while you can because the queen is home and she's coming for that f**king gold."
