UFC 281 results: Dan Hooker ends losing streak with impressive TKO win against Claudio Puelles

Dan Hooker snapped his two-fight losing skid with a stellar performance against Claudio Puelles in the main card opener of UFC 281.

But 'The Hangman' didn't cruise to victory without having to overcome a few submission threats. After a brief feel-out process, Puelles went for an Imanari roll and got a hold of Hooker's ankle.

The Kiwi fighter did a tremendous job defending against the heel hook and found a way to scramble out of imminent danger. Puelles went straight for another Imanari roll, but Hooker was wise to it.

From there, Hooker was able to connect with clean shots before the round came to an end

'The Hangman' applied his range to perfection, picking off Puelles with precise punches and body kicks.

Puelles attempted to force the fight to the ground, but Hooker evaded his traps and waved him back up. The orthodox vs. southpaw matchup presented openings for Hooker's steep kicks, which he took advantage of.

Hooker lost back-to-back against Islam Makhachev and Arnold Allen in his last two outings. However, 'The Hangman' is back to winning ways, improving his record to 22-12.
