Dan Hooker sends Charles Oliveira message amid rumor that the Kiwi lied about fighting ‘do Bronx’ at UFC 305
Dan Hooker recently shared some surprising news that he would be fighting Charles Oliveira at UFC 305 in Australia. However, since his statement, rumors have circled that 'The Hangman' made up that he would be facing Oliveira in August.
Following the rumors about Hooker's claim, which 'do Bronx' confirmed were not accurate, the lightweight contender sent the former champion a message.
The Brazilian took to X and posted this:
"People have been booking fights for me that I'm not aware of. Metaverse fights? Maybe."
@ITZLIT23 replied to Oliveira with this:
"Love ya Charles, wish the fight rumors were true."
'Do Bronx' responded with the following:
"Thanx, but they're not."
Hooker, who has previously expressed a strong desire to fight at UFC 305 alongside his City Kickboxing teammates Israel Adesanya and Kai Kara-France, responded to Oliveira's post by writing this:
"I can book you a hiding real quick."

Having only fought once in 2023 due to injury, the now fully-fit Hooker will be eager to return to action against a high-level opponent. But with many of the lightweight division's top 10 already booked, or having recently competed, the Kiwi may struggle to find an ideal opponent.
Dan Hooker claims Dustin Poirier choked him out with a guillotine submission during their fight
Dan Hooker and Dustin Poirier went to war in one of the fights of 2020 when they headlined UFC Vegas 4. The clash was a back-and-forth affair with both men having their opponents in trouble several times.
However, the Kiwi recently revealed that 'The Diamond' choked him out cold with a guillotine submission, Poirier's favorite but least successful submission. However, the referee, nor the American, noticed that Hooker was unconscious, leaving him enough time to wake up and continue the fight.
'The Hangman' is known for his grit and tenacity, having displayed his toughness against Poirier, as well as countless other octagon appearances. He recently appeared on MainEvent, a combat sports show, and said this:
"In the Poirier fight, he had me in a guillotine, I might've been the first guy he ever submitted with the guillotine. He just didn't realize I was out. It was the third round, I shot for a takedown, he jumped the guillotine. He must have just run of steam [from] squeezing because I woke up and I was like, 'Oh, the fight's still going.'"
