Dana White called out for arrogant 'sham of a presser' by former ESPN journalist
Dana White has had a terrible start to the new year as the UFC frontman was caught on tape getting into a physical altercation with his wife at a New Year's Eve party in Mexico.
White had previously issued an apologetic statement after TMZ first posted a now-viral video of him and his wife, Anne, getting into an intoxicated fracas in public. The 53-year-old also made an appearance at the latest media scrum ahead of UFC Vegas 67.
Dana White reiterated his shame for slapping his wife in public and claimed that his public image and how others view him is a severe punishment in itself.

However, many believe that the UFC president should face more than just a guilty conscience.
Former ESPN journalist Mike Wise was one of them, and the columnist took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the matter. Calling the recent presser a 'sham', Wise wrote:
"Dana White’s sham of a presser was a CEO of a corporate colossus saying being labeled a man who hits a woman for the rest of his life is penance enough, and that his beloved UFC would suffer financially if he had to step away at all. No talk of counseling, DV donations, nothing."
The American journalist further compared Dana White to former NFL star Ray Rice and questioned the difference in media attention and repercussions faced by the two personalities after committing similar offenses.
Brendan Schaub believes Dana White should not lose his job over New Year's Eve incident
Dana White found himself in deeply turbulent waters after the UFC supremo was found committing an act of domestic violence against his wife while the two brought in the New Year at a party in Mexico.
Even after issuing an apologetic statement to TMZ and later reiterating his remorse for his actions at the recent UFC Vegas 67 presser, the 53-year-old has been confronted with calls for his resignation from the UFC.
However, former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub recently shared his contrarian opinion and claimed that while White deserves to be punished, his job must not be taken away.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Fighter And The Kid podcast, Schaub opined:
"Apparently, Dana White did a press conference today and he was like, 'For the fighters sticking up for me, don't... Quit sticking up for me.' That's what I've been saying from the jump, let him deal with this... Let him eat his crow, deal with it. I don't think he should lose his job. There should be some repercussions... You can't hit a woman in public like that."
