Dana White Contender Series fighter responds to Movsar Evloev's callout for UFC 307 fight: "I will win my UFC contract"

Each week, the fighters competing in Dana White's Contender Series enter the UFC APEX prepared for the biggest moment of their lives. However, ahead of the seventh episode of the 2024 edition, one fighter merely sees the opportunity as a stepping stone to an even bigger one.

Kevin Vallejos, a 13-1 featherweight prospect from Argentina, aimed high on social media just days before his matchup with Cam Teague on DWCS. He claimed that he would win the fight and step in two weeks later to debut against Movsar Evloev. Vallejos had no doubts about winning a contract on Sept. 24 and offered himself up to fight Evloev by tweeting:

"I will win my UFC contract on Tuesday in #DWCS [and] when I win, I'll take the fight"

The fight with Teague will be Vallejos' second attempt to win a contract on Dana White's Contender Series, having lost to Jean Silva on the show in 2023. Since the loss, Vallejos picked up two more wins on the regional scene to earn another chance.

The 22-year-old prospect is a sizeable favorite to beat Teague in his second opportunity but was also a slight favorite to beat Silva in 2023.

Movsar Evloev claimed he would fight "anyone" at UFC 307

While Kevin Vallejos' bid to fight Movsar Evloev on short notice at UFC 307 appears far-fetched at first glance, the Russian contender called for the UFC to give him "anyone" to fight at UFC 307.

Evloev was initially scheduled to face former bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling on the card but following his opponent's withdrawal, he sent out an open invitation for any featherweight to "call the UFC" for a short-notice opportunity. The post was seemingly made in frustration, but the undefeated contender notably fought Diego Lopes on short notice in May 2023.

Evloev tweeted:

"I will fight anyone call the UFC if you are interested"

It remains to be seen how serious Vallejos is in his social media callout but the young prodigy figures to give more indication on the potential fight should he earn a contract on Sept. 24.
