Dana White doubles down on fixing UFC's ranking system after slamming latest update: "It's driving me crazy"
Dana White is once again voicing his frustration with the organization’s ranking system, specifically pointing out the inconsistency of certain rankings.
Most recently, his dissatisfaction reached a peak when light heavyweight Khalil Rountree Jr. remained stagnant at No. 8 despite a stellar performance at UFC 307 against Alex Pereira.
During a press conference for Dana White’s Contender Series, White was visibly upset when asked about Rountree Jr.'s position. He expressed disbelief that 'The War Horse' had not moved up, especially considering his strong showing against a fighter like Pereira.
Speaking to the media, White said:
"If you look at who Pereira has beat, right? And how he has beat him leading up to this fight. He was winning on the scorecards when he got stopped. He was the head on the scorecards. Stayed in the pocket, put up one of the greatest fights anybody has ever seen, and he stays at number 8... I can’t handle the incompetence. I can’t take it anymore. It’s driving me crazy."
White further revealed that he has a meeting scheduled to address the ranking issue, stating:
“Tomorrow, I have a meeting with a group of people, coming to me, saying they have a solution to this problem. And God, I hope they’re right. Because I’m gonna change it. The media will no longer control the rankings in the UFC.”
