Dana White explains why UFC lightweight reminds him of young Conor McGregor: "Everybody keeps doubting him"

UFC CEO Dana White recently praised a UFC lightweight for his winning run inside the octagon. White compared the rising star in the promotion to former two-division champion Conor McGregor.

McGregor's meteoric rise to fame and fortune is well-documented. His charismatic personality and undeniable skills transformed him into a global phenomenon. Now, White sees a similar trajectory for Paddy Pimblett.

Since joining the UFC in 2021, Pimblett has quickly captured fans' attention with his electrifying performances and outspoken demeanor. In a recent interview with Jim Rome, White explained his reasoning behind the comparison:

"He reminds me of Conor [McGregor] when he first started. Everybody were saying that Conor is not that good... and they just keep sticking it to everybody everytime they fight. Paddy is one of those guys. Everybody keeps doubting him... People keep calling him out and wanting to fight him. After what he did to Bobby Green it's hard to say that Paddy is not a real deal."
