Dana White responds to question about Conor McGregor's assault verdict in Nikita Hand court case
UFC CEO Dana White has finally addressed the recent verdict in Conor McGregor's civil case, handed down in a Dublin court more than two weeks ago.
During the UFC 310 post-fight press conference, when asked about McGregor's legal situation, White dismissed the question, saying:
"What do you mean, what's my reaction? If I had a comment, I would've put it out already..."
On McGregor’s future in the UFC, White remarked:
"He hasn't been fighting here in, I don't know, how long. Well, if he does fight, it'll be sometime next year."
Check out Dana White's comments when asked about Conor McGregor's court case below:
The former UFC two-division champion was ordered to pay €248,603.60 ($261,246.63) in damages to Nikita Hand, whom he was found liable for assaulting in a Dublin hotel in 2018. The court also warned McGregor for his controversial social media posts after the verdict.
The fallout has been significant. Several UK and Irish retailers discontinued McGregor-related products and McGregor-founded Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey announced it would no longer use his name and image for marketing purposes.
IO Interactive also removed McGregor-related content from the video game 'Hitman: World of Assassination.'
Despite the backlash, McGregor has vowed to appeal the decision. The fighter, who hasn't competed since July 2021, was supposed to return in June 2024, but an injury derailed those plans.
Conor McGregor mocks Belal Muhammad for nearly being denied entry into the octagon at UFC 301
Conor McGregor sparked controversy with a scathing audio rant following Joe Rogan's witty remark about Belal Muhammad at UFC 310. Rogan's comment came during an unusual moment when security delayed Muhammad's entry into the octagon for a face-off with Shavkat Rakhmonov.
Rakhmonov had just secured a unanimous decision win over Ian Machado Garry when Muhammad, the reigning welterweight champion, was invited for a post-fight showdown. Security's apparent confusion about Muhammad's identity prompted Rogan to quip:
"Security doesn't know he is the champ. Let him in."
McGregor seized on the moment, launching an explicit tirade targeting Muhammad. McGregor mocked calling him irrelevant and unworthy of recognition:
"Hahaha, the security doesn't know he is the champ. Look at the state of this c**t. The security doesn't know he is the champ. I'm not surprised motherf****r. Oh mate, he is an a**hole, that thingy. Shut your mouth you little dope, you barely got into the ring. They don't even know you're the champ you d**k. Who is this f*****g guy? 'Who the f**k is that guy?', security said, yeah?"
