Dana White reveals UFC Apex undergoing incredible $25 million expansion: "It's going to be bigger and better"

UFC CEO Dana White revealed massive plans to invest back in the sport and fortify their base at the Apex Facility in Las Vegas with a significant upgrade.

The Apex Facility, which opened in 2019, has become a central establishment for UFC fight nights with roughly over 100 events staged at the venue. During the pandemic, the venue became the go-to spot for the organization, which has resulted in a cutback on fight night travels for the organization.

White revealed plans to upgrade the facility in an interview with TNT Sports, stating:

"We're gonna travel more with the fight nights. The other thing is we're actually...the Apex is going under construction. We're actually expanding the Apex. It's gonna be bigger and better. We're doing like a $25M expansion on the Apex."

Speaking about whether the events at the facility will be open to fans, White added:

"Oh yeah... More hospitality, more bathrooms, bigger and more seatings."

Prominent MMA video producer Ken Hathaway had revealed that while the ongoing expansion of the facility could lead to more UFC events at the Apex, the venue will also stage other events such as pro wrestling shows, concerts, and stand-up comedy performances.

While there are no official confirmations on whether the venue will be open to other events, the expansion plan paints a picture of the UFC's vision to elevate the sport to new heights.

Dana White lambasts MGM for going head-to-head during Noche UFC

Noche UFC will face stiff competition from the boxing world when a Canelo Alvarez-led card will go head-to-head with the UFC on Sept. 14 in Las Vegas.

On one end of the scheduling conflict, boxing star Alvarez is scheduled to defend his unified super middleweight championship against Edgar Berlanga at MGM property in T-Mobile Arena. Meanwhile, the UFC will stage the first live sporting event at The Sphere with UFC 306 on the same date.

Speaking about the schedule overlap in an interview with ESPN, Dana White said:

"Canelo's one of those guys that I respect and hey, good on [PBC's Al] Haymon. Haymon snatched that date right away from me. The guys at MGM have done nothing but f---ing disrespect me and the UFC for 20 years. It is what it is. Here we go."
