Dana White reveals speaking to Donald Trump before Kamala Harris debate, says former POTUS saw it "as a heavyweight fight"

Dana White recently discussed the conversation he had with Donald Trump prior to Trump's debate with Kamala Harris. Trump seemed to take this debate extremely seriously, according to White.

Notably, White has a close friendship with Trump and has openly expressed his support, despite the latter's controversial political beliefs. The former United States President frequently attends UFC events and has had White speak at his presidential campaign rallies.

Trump and Harris recently debated for the presidential elections in 2024. ABC served as the host for the Tuesday night debate. During the roughly 90-minute event, both candidates attacked one another harshly on a variety of issues, such as the economy, abortion rights, the Israel-Palestine and Russia-Ukraine wars, and immigration policies.

During the 'Dana White Contender Series' Season 8 Week 5 post-fight interview, White was questioned about whether he saw the Trump vs. Harris debate. The 55-year-old responded:

''No I haven't seen it but I'll tell you this, he [Trump] called me an hour before the debate. I talked to him when I was coming here right, when we had got off the plane, I was in LA today and first of all, it's the second time he has to debate. He already did a debate, they didn't like how the debate turned out so they want to kick that guy out, he's in fit to run yet he's still the president of the United States. Now they bring in somebody who wasn't elected to actually be in there, and they'll only do it on ABC.''

White added:

''I don't know how it went or what happened but I know he took it seriously, he said,' I look at this is like a heavyweight fight. I'm not taking anybody lightly.''

Dana White shares details about Conor McGregor's return

Conor McGregor hasn't competed in three years since breaking his leg at UFC 264 in July 2021. McGregor was set to return against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 this June, however, a toe injury forced him out of the bout.

In a recent interview with New York Post Sports, Dana White discussed McGregor's return, saying:

''I was the one saying I don't think he's [McGregor] is going to fight this year... Conor McGregor will fight next year, early 2025. He's had so much time off... As far as the hunger, he's a very wealthy guy [and] we'll find out when he comes back."
