Dana White's bitter rival drags up his past after the UFC president is caught slapping wife
Oscar De La Hoya has decided to reignite his feud with Dana White after reacting to the UFC president's latest controversy involving his wife.
On New Year's Eve, White was out celebrating with his wife, Anne, and their friends in Cabo, New Mexico. A video was later released by TMZ of the night which showed the married couple drinking and arguing, before Anne struck the 53-year-old across the face. White responded by instantly slapping her back before the pair were separated by their friends.
Since the incident, White has appeared on TMZ and apologized for his actions, claiming there is absolutely no excuse for his behavior.
Oscar De La Hoya took to Twitter to share his response to the situation and joked that Dana White's slap was an attempt to take away a performance bonus from a fighter in his new Power Slap League:
"My good friend @danawhite is so greedy he decided to steal fighter pay from his new league on TBS 'Power Slap' by getting fighter of the night against his WIFE. Those Boston aerobic instructors are real tough guys."
The feud between De La Hoya and White dates back to 2017 when Conor McGregor faced Floyd Mayweather. The former boxing champion believes the fight made a mockery of the sport of boxing and at the time wrote a long post on social media that asked fans to boycott the event. The pair have since traded regular blows at one another.

Ariel Helwani responds to Dana White incident
Ariel Helwani has penned a stern message to Dana White this week following the incident involving the UFC president's wife.
The relationship between White and Helwani has been non-existent since UFC 199 in 2016. At the time, Helwani broke the news that the UFC were planning on bringing back Brock Lesnar at UFC 200. Dana White was furious with Helwani and famously removed him from the arena and banned him from covering and attending any future events.
Following his removal and ban, Helwani broke down in tears on an episode of The MMA Hour whilst discussing the ordeal. Dana White criticized Helwani for being emotional and claimed the journalist's children would be disappointed to see their father cry.
On this week's episode of the show, Helwani had his own message for the UFC president and referred to White's previous criticism of him:
"What are your kids gonna say about you? What are your kids gonna say about your legacy? About the way you treat fighters? About the way you treat people? About your business practices? What are your kids gonna say about that video? What are your kids gonna say about the kind of person that you are? What are your kids gonna say about you? Ask yourself that f**king question."
