Dana White sheds light on promise 13-year-old David Benavidez made to him: "Love this kind of sh*t"

UFC President Dana White recently posted a wholesome encounter with current interim WBC light-heavyweight world champion David Benavidez more than a decade ago.

As it turned out, Benavidez, who soundly defeated Oleksandr Gvozdyk for the strap last weekend, approached White when he was just a 13-year-old kid and made him a powerful promise.

In light of the recent interim world title win of 'El Monstruo', White posted about him on his Instagram stories, saying:

"I met @benavidez300 when he was 13 and he told me he would be a world champion. Love this kind of s**t!! #manifesting"

Check out a screenshot of the story as posted by Michael Benson on X:

Benavidez did good of his promise earlier, winning the WBC world title in 2017, making him the youngest ever to hold it at that weight class (20 years, eight months, three weeks). If that doesn't prove the power of manifesting, we don't know what will.

Dana White announces major fight cancelations in the UFC for June

June 2024 is starting to look like one of the worst months in UFC history, as far as fight cancelations are concerned. As per a series of posts uploaded by UFC president Dana White last week, a few high-profile bouts have been canceled with a major pay-per-view getting a major rehaul.

First, the much-awaited fight between Khamzat Chimaev and former UFC middleweight world champion Robert Whittaker set to take place in Saudi Arabia next weekend has been canceled. As per Dana White, Chimaev has fallen 'violently ill' and has been replaced by Ikram Aliskerov.

Second, and perhaps the most disappointing fight cancelation this year, is the pulling out of Conor McGregor from the main event of the massive UFC 303 set for June 29. 'The Notorious' was set to return to action after nearly three years of inactivity to clash with rival Michael Chandler, who has been waiting for this fight for two years.

In light of the McGregor injury and subsequent pull-out, the new main event of UFC 303 will be Alex Pereira, who will defend his UFC light-heavyweight throne in a rematch with former divisional ruler Jiri Prochazka. Both Pereira and Prochazka both appeared at UFC 300 last April, winning their respective matches.
